Account director, Munich

What you will be doing

MING Labs is looking for a new Account Director (based in Munich or Berlin) to join our lovely team in Germany.

As our new German-speaking Account Director, you’ll be responsible for working closely with our existing clients in discovering and shaping new opportunities and briefs, as well as acquiring new clients and staying in close contact with our partner network. You’ll be the key link between our clients and our project/program teams, working to become a trusted advisor to key clients and building up long-term relationships.

You’ll take responsibility for the management of key client relationships, including regular account discussions, shaping new briefs and opportunities, creating convincing proposals and building long-term relationships. You will also take responsibility for acquiring new clients, from first contact all the way to establishing a long-term relationship. Our goal is to have a truly transformative impact on our clients’ businesses, and you will be a key player in making that happen.

You’ll report straight to the General Manager of our German business, and you’ll be interacting with all parts of the business in line of your responsibilities.  

Your specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

New Business

  • You will be responsible to closely coordinate with our Marketing team on a strong outwards facing approach for lead generation and qualification
  • You will be on the front lines of building initial and lasting impressions with clients who are interested in building relationships with MING Labs
  • You convey a keen understanding of MING Labs‘ complete value across all of our existing and future offerings

Account Management

  • You drive the creation and execution of account strategy in collaboration with account discipline leads, our founders and the regional GM
  • You own account plans and reviews, reportings, project kickoffs and team briefings
  • You gain intimate understanding of your clients’ business strategy, product group/service offerings, organization, processes, and decision-making structures.
  • You continue building our positive reputation across our client landscape and will be an ambassador to our brand

Business Development

  • You control and communicate the new business funnel, providing accurate and timely reporting of all new project opportunities to all relevant parties
  • You ensure closure on client commitments to new projects, including proposal crafting, managing approvals, negotiation, contracting and timely signatures on Statements of Work
  • You bring a thoughtful and consultative approach to the job every day

  • Demonstrating proactive ability in reaching executive decision makers for the innovation work that MING Labs does
  • Working well within the existing matrix organization and receiving high peer evaluations as a team player and excellent internal and external communicator
  • Your proven ability to prosper in ambiguous environments, both with customers and internally
  • Your proven ability to be a trusted advisor to our clients
What we are looking for

10+ years of relevant professional experience (preferably in a professional services environment, such as agencies or consultancies) in the field of account management, business development sales and project/program management.

Strong interest and passion for digital businesses and products.

Passion to build digital strategies with clients.

Ability to establish a collaborative and trusting relationship with our clients and partners, as well as a talent to be a trusted advisor to our clients in helping them shape their briefs and requirements to fully meet their business objectives.

Existing client relationships MING Labs can benefit from.

Ability to prioritize, delegate and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.

Excellent (business fluent) communication and negotiation skills in German and English are a must.
